Software developers have been busy taking advantage of the opportunities available to develop exciting new apps for Ultrabook™ devices. One is the award-winning action puzzle game The Great Jitters: Pudding Panic.
This truly original game, developed by independent game developer Kunst-stoff, features a nervous blob of pudding trapped on a train in a spooky haunted house. Players use the touch capabilities of Ultrabook devices to maneuver through mazes, scare monsters, solve puzzles and more.
“We’ve created a fun, interactive game where users can control the game through touch features,” said Patrick Rau managing director for Kunst-stoff.
Kunst-stoff developers took advantage of resources available to them as an Intel® Software Partner to gain valuable insight into the technologies and capabilities of Ultrabook systems when it developed The Great Jitters: Pudding Panic. “We were able to get the tools and support from Intel to make this a truly spooky and fun game,” said Patrick.
With powerful Intel® Core™ processors in Ultrabook devices, the gameplay for The Great Jitters: Pudding Panic is fast, allowing players to quickly and seamlessly manipulate tracks, exchange junctions and activate levers and bridges. “Because of the fast pace of this game, having powerful processing speeds makes it more fluid and graphically rich,” said Patrick.
While optimizing the game for Ultrabook systems, Kunst-stoff teamed up with Intel developers and engineers to create the best code possible. Kunst-stoff also utilized the communities in the Intel Developer Zone® for more help. “These Intel resources helped to keep this project efficient and on target,” said Patrick.
The combination of touch and laptop capabilities present a new gaming experience and because of this Kunst-stoff looks forward to creating new games for Ultrabook devices. “Both interfaces working together opens up a new dimension of possibility in gaming,” said Patrick.
Kunst-stoff is an independent game developer and publisher based in Germany. Kunst-stoff began as a composite of freelancers working together on interactive games and exhibits. Since then the company has grown into an award-winning game developer with “The Great Jitters: Pudding Panic”.
