This Quick Start guide shows you how to install and run the sample application, as well as setup your development environment in order to build the provided sample applications.

The SDK can be downloaded by going to Intel® CCF Developer Home Page. Intel® CCF SDK for iOS contains:

  • Intel® CCF SDK
    • CCF_SDK.pkg - Installation package for the SDK.
  • Licenses and Notices
  • ReleaseNotes.pdf

Running the Samples

Intel® CCF SDK includes several sample applications along with source code to show how to use the SDK and CCF APIs. Simple Chat sample is the most basic sample application that covers all the major functionalities of CCF.

  1. Please uninstall older versions of Intel® CCF SDK in /Applications/intel/CCF if they are installed on the machine.
  2. Install CCF_SDK.pkg. This installer will copy all the required frameworks, tool, samples, and API reference documentation. This can typically be found under /Applications/intel/CCF
  3. The best way to interact with the SDK is through sample applications. In this release, we provide 4 sample applications along with the source code. Browse to your SDK installation directory, typically, /Applications/CCF/SDK/Samples/
  4. Open SimpleChat.xcworkspace in your xCode IDE. Build it and run the application on your Apple device or the simulator

Note: Compiled binaries for any sample applications are not provided with the iOS SDK.

Building the Samples

Pre-requisites

At the minimum, a Mac running OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard) or later is required to build and run provided Sample applications.

Xcode IDE version 4.5 or later is required for development. Xcode is available on Mac App Store, and it includes all the tools required to develop applications for iOS. Intel CCF is designed to run on iOS devices running iOS version 6.0 or later.

As with any iOS applications, an Apple iOS Developer Program membership is required for testing CCF iOS applications on a physical device and submitting apps to the app store. The Apple iOS Developer Program includes technical resources, access to the iOS developer's forum and to technical support.
