The Intel® Developer Program for Internet of Things is a comprehensive program for hobbyists, students and entrepreneurial developers that delivers everything a software developer needs to quickly turn ideas into apps for the Internet of Things (IoT). The program includes:
- Intel® Galileo Development Kit for IoT - The first of several Intel-based IoT development kits, which includes:
- Best-in-class development tools that grow with you from prototype to commercial applications within the same development framework, licensed for non-commercial use: Yocto Application Developer Toolkit, Intel® System Studio, Wind River* VxWorks*, and Wind River Workbench used to develop applications that scale across all Intel® architecture, from Intel® Quark technology to Intel® Xeon® processor family that use the same binary or recompile for speed
- The Arduino*-compatible Intel® Galileo development board
- IoT Analytics Platform as a Service - Cloud-based data processing platform that makes developing and deploying IoT applications in the cloud fast, easy, and secure.
- Reduces complexity of data integration with IoT Analytics Agent on Galileo that ingests and transfers data securely from sensor hubs to the cloud.
- Scales and secures growing volumes of IoT data using the Intel Data Platform based on Apache Hadoop running in the cloud.
- Enables IoT applications to respond intelligently to events with data processing tools that simplify collecting, transforming, storing, visualizing sensor data and a rule engine that provides powerful ability to trigger actions based on event patterns.
- Mashery API Network with access to over 50 Mashery-powered RESTful APIs using a single ID.
- IoT Developer Zone - A new on-line software community to explore, build and share IoT solutions. Join the community at software.intel.com/IoT.
- IoT Explorer Challenge. Global hackathon series with exciting prizes including trips, cash and Go-to-market support:
- Polar Expedition by Quark Expeditions
- Himalayas Heli Safari tour
- Seven Wonders of the World tour
- Academic Program - Intel is working with top universities and their professors to enable curriculum and inspire students to develop innovative apps on Intel's Internet of Things technologies. Harvard, Carnegie Mellon and three Brazilian universities - University of Campinas, Federal University of São Carlos, and the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul are among the universities announcing their support for the program. This program is complementary to Intel's previously announced commitment to provide 50,000 Galileo boards to universities around the world
- 20 City Roadshow - A worldwide series of local hackathons and meet-ups that will bring developers together to showcase and share ideas. Five thousand Intel® Galileo Development Kits for IoT will be provided to participating developers to support broad innovation and encourage entry in the IoT Explorer Challenge.
