Intel’s advanced technologies help accelerate 3D video and video analytics processing
As the demand for smart home security and surveillance system grows, huperLab 3D video analytics solution, which incorporates depth vision with a dual security camera system, is leading the trend. huperLab’s video analytics is smart enough to identify intruders accurately while being easy to operate and manage. The upcoming Tokyo Security Show will have a demonstration of all of huperLab’s housing security applications.
Huper Laboratories Co., Ltd. (huperLab), a solution provider specializing in professional video surveillance systems, recently entered Japan’s Home Security market. Integrating with Sojitz Building Materials and Security’s MusaShi GuardEyes* security systems, huperLab’s 3D dual-lens camera technology detects and identifies intruders.
The huperLab 3D dual-lens camera brings human-like depth vision to capture and construct 3D moving objects in real time to better distinguish them from the background. The stereoscopic technology, with its integrated height filter method, delivers a higher tolerance to changes in light and shadow. It overlaps moving objects for higher accuracy than infrared detection technology.
Channel Density
The system brings multiple video signals into one interface. Benefiting from Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology and Intel® multicore processors, the system can output 16-channel camera video data in a single process, and 64-channel data in four processes concurrently.
As the higher video performance is developed, faster stream encoding/decoding is required. For the solution’s H.264 video streaming huperLab adopted Intel® Quick Sync Video technology to compress real-time video and achieve smooth video stream playback without any delay.
Image Processing and Graphic
After years of developing computer vision technology, huperLab has committed to a new era of 3D stereo vision technology. This technology reconstructs 3D information from a pair of digital stereo images and requires high performance of image processing and algorithm acceleration. huperLab leverages Intel® Streaming SIMD Extensions (Intel® SSE), Intel SSE3, and Intel SSE4 instruction sets to speed up image resampling, zooming in/out, Gaussian blur, optical flow, flood filling, motion estimation, and the calculation of disparity map on stereo image processing.
The uncompromised performance gains from Intel® platforms help 3D video analytics to be the cutting-edge technology in the video analytics industry, both delivering high accuracy and fulfilling the sophisticated needs of various applications.
